I’m Dr. Audra Butler and I'm an Associate Professor and the Director of Assessment and Instructional Innovation at Anne Arundel Community College. I help faculty connect subject matter curriculum and teaching practices to student learning with the goal of continuous improvement.  This is called Learning Outcomes Assessment (LOA) and describes an assessment process with a specific focus on student learning and outcomes in the classroom (face to face or virtual).My core values around LOA are:1. Assessment is nonevaluative: LOA assesses and supports student learning, rather than evaluating teacher effectiveness.2. Assessment is flexible: LOA supports a flexible system that inspires instructional innovation and continuous improvement.3. Assessment is manageable: LOA is purposeful and intentional, yet practical.4. Assessment is collaborative: LOA is a collaborative process that supports student learning, inclusion, and transparency at all levels.In addition to my assessment duties, I teach courses in Education, Biology and Student Success. I have been in the field of education for over 20 years and taught middle school, high school, and now college. I was born and raised in Anne Arundel County and even started my educational path at Anne Arundel Community College in 1990!
